GISC License Manager

The instructions below describe how you can use the GISC License Manager for ArcInfo Workstation 7.1.1, 7.1.2, 7.2.1, ArcGIS - ArcEditor 8.1 and ArcGIS - ArcInfo 8.0.1, 8.0.2, 8.1.

To use the License Manager on machines running Windows NT 4.0 and Windows 2000:

Select Start > Settings > Control Panel and open the System icon. Click on the Environment tab.

For Windows NT 4.0, select a System Variable. The variable name and value will appear in the two boxes below User Variables. Enter ESRI_LICENSE_FILE for the variable name and 27005@mahagonny.gisc.berkeley.edu as the current value. Then click set.

For Windows 2000, click on the 'New...' button below System Variables. Set the variable name to ESRI_LICENSE_FILE and give it a value of 27005@mahagonny.gisc.berkeley.edu

Click Set or Apply, then OK.

For UNIX add this line to your .cshrc file

Then rehash or source .cshrc
