| Fruitvale's Open Space is extremely low. It lacks public and private interests and funding. For 20 years, it has been in search of revitalization, but largely without results. In the Environmental Planning Studio, students helped the Spanish Speaking Union Council in Fruitvale to develop some open space improvement plans. |

Plan Example 1: Downtown
The park service area in Oakland General Plan is misleading. It took it for granted that within the service radius, all the population are equally distributed and well served. In fact, the serving radius should be adjusted by population.
