9th Annual Conference on GIS Research (GISRUK 2001)

The GISRUK Steering Committee are pleased to announce that GISRUK 2001 is being staged at the Glamorgan Business Centre (University of Glamorgan) on the 18th to 20th April 2001, with Young Researchers Forum preceding the conference on the 17th to 18th April 2001.

The conference will include invited plenary sessions involving international speakers, including Nick Chrisman (AGI Keynote, University of Washington), Martien Molenaar (Taylor & Francis Keynote, ITC, Netherlands), David Maguire (ESRI) and Vanessa Lawrence (O.S.); parallel sessions of research papers, panel discussions, poster papers and a publishers' exhibition. This year, the conference programme is made up of 120 papers and 40 poster presentations - which comprise of contributions from 34 countries. The scheduled sessions include GIS in Planning; Socio-Economic Applications; Transport & GPS; Health; Crime; Hydrology; Digital Terrain Modelling & Geomorphology; Coastal Zone; Environment; Remote Sensing; Cartographic Generalisation; Visualisation; Spatial Modelling & Interpolation; Database Design; and GeoComputation.
