ECAI Talk

Anne Knowles is coming to Berkeley to give a talk on her new book, "Past Times, Past Place." The talk will be in the Maude Fife Room, Wheeler all--a prime and spacious location, courtesy of our benefactor, the American Cultures Program.

As all of you may know by now, this book concerns use of GIS for historical research, and features several ECAI-affiliated projects as case studies. The publication of this book may be a significant event in bringing GIS to serious academic consideration in terms of using GIS for historical analysis. Having this talk here may help bring this issue to the attention of our own community.

Please attend if you can (there will be more publicity closer to the date), and please do all you can to encourage others who may have an interest to attend.
