ABAG: Association of Bay Area Governments (http://www.abag.org)
ABAG is one of more than 560 regional planning agencies across the nation working to help solve problems in areas such as land use, housing, environmental quality, and economic development. ABAG is owned and operated by the cities and counties of the San Francisco Bay Area. It was established in 1961 to protect local control, plan for the future, and promote cooperation on areawide issues. In recent years, ABAG has answered the needs of its members by providing low-cost services that save the taxpayers millions of dollars.

BAAMA: Bay AreaAutomated Mapping Association (http://www.baama.org)
BAAMA is the San Francisco Bay Area chapter of the Urban and Regional Information Systems Association (URISA), which also includes the SonAMA section in Sonoma County. BAAMA is a non-profit, professional organization which provides bi-monthly forums for topics relating to automated mapping, geographic information systems (GIS) and related topics.


CGIA: California Geographic Information Association (http://www.cgia.org)
The CGIA was formed in 1994 based on a recommendation put forth in the California Report of the Geographic Information Task Force. The CGIA is a partner organization with the Federal Geographic Data Committee working to define and develop California's portion of the NSDI (National Spatial Data Infrastructure). Since our inception, the CGIA has been active in our mission "To Promote the Effective Use of Geographic Information in the State of California." In support of this mission, there are many CGIA services and initiatives which are described on our web pages.


San Francisco Bay Area ArcView Users Group (http://www.is.ch2m.com/avusers)
The SF Bay Area ArcView Users Group is open to anyone interested in the use of ArcView, ESRI's desktop GIS software. This site has links to some GIS-related links of interest to the Bay Area community.
