Ambassadors to the ESRI User Conference
Students -- CaGIS wants to help you attend the ESRI User Conference this year! Once again, two students will be selected as CaGIS Ambassadors to the ESRI International User Conference. Winners will receive hotel accommodations as well as support to offset travel costs and meals. The award consists of $1200, compliments of CaGIS, as well as full registration to the conference, compliments of ESRI. As a CaGIS ambassador, you will be part of the team in the CaGIS booth in the conference Exhibition Hall. You will have lots of free time to visit technical sessions, see software demos,explore the Map Exhibition, and browse the vendor booths, all while networking at the conference! Eligibility: Any undergraduate or graduate student enrolled in a four-year college as of spring term 2005 is eligible to enter, but to win, you must be a member of CaGIS. Preference will be given to one undergraduate and one graduate student. Preference will also be given to first time attendees to the conference.
To apply: Fill out the contest application form, including a statement of how you think CaGIS should serve the profession and discipline of cartography and geographic information science, and in particular how the organization can serve its student members. Submit the form via email along with faxed transcripts and proof of CaGIS membership.
Deadline for applications: Applications must be received by June 1st, 2005. Winners will be notified by June 15th. The conference is July 24th to 29th. The application form and further details are available at: http://www.acsm.net/cagis/esri/index.html
